This album is dedicated to my close friend David Phillips, who passed away in January 2020.

It was such a privilege to make music with Dave. He played with precision and passion. His absolute dedication to his art was infectious to all those around him. Off stage, he brought joy to the other musicians. He was continually sourcing and listening to new albums, which spanned nearly every stylistic boundary, and he relished discussing the infinite details of music.

Dave's input into this album was invaluable. His wonderful playing is recorded here for all to enjoy. I am thankful for his sage artistic advice and support, throughout all the stages of rehearsal, recording, and mixing.

Beyond the music, I will always remember Dave for his priceless insights into human behaviour, wonderful sense of humour, generous and compassionate nature, and constant friendship.
